Why Vetting Hub Exists

Our Story

We've spent nearly twenty years working in screening, vetting and compliance. Not teaching it from a distance, but doing it ourselves, every day, for organisations where getting the decision right genuinely mattered.

From 2006 to 2024, we built and ran our own screening businesses. We worked with employers, HR teams and regulators who needed to know they could trust the people they were hiring and the systems keeping their organisations safe.

We dealt with the difficult cases. The unclear situations. The moments where policy documents don't give you the answer and you still have to make the call.

In 2025, we created Vetting Hub because we wanted to share what we'd learned with people facing those same challenges.

What We Kept Seeing

Throughout our careers, we saw the same problem everywhere. It wasn't that screening standards were too complicated. It was that the training people were getting just wasn't preparing them properly.

People were being asked to make critical decisions about identity checks, background screening and who should have access to sensitive roles, often with nothing more than a policy document and a generic online course to guide them.

Most training taught the rules but not the reality. Not what to do when documents don't quite match up. When employment histories have gaps. When something feels off but you can't quite put your finger on why.

The result was people feeling uncertain, making inconsistent judgements, and too often, risks getting missed entirely.

We knew there had to be a better way.

How We Do Things Differently

Everything we teach at Vetting Hub comes from situations we've actually worked through. The tricky judgment calls. The compliance pressures. The screening cases where the right answer isn't immediately obvious.

We've navigated identity fraud, forged documents, complex DBS disclosures, employment gaps that don't add up, and risk decisions that needed careful, defensible reasoning. We know what works in practice, what holds up under audit, and what gives you decisions you can stand behind.

All our courses are CPD certified and we're registered with the UK Register of Learning Providers. You get proper, recognised certificates that employers and compliance teams accept. That matters.

But what matters more is that you finish our training with genuine confidence. With clarity about what you're doing and why. With the ability to make sound, proportionate decisions based on professional judgement, not just ticking boxes.
